Katherine and Faye met while studying clothing technology courses at Leeds College of Art and Design and found a shared interest in trying to solve tricky problems relating to movement and good fit in pattern cutting.

Faye has created fabric and leather handbags and has recently developed her own women's outdoor clothing range under the name Aire Clothing .

Katherine is skilled in women's tailoring, particularly jackets, and continues to work under the name Katherine Faye Designs. The fabrics used are mainly Scottish and Welsh tweeds as well as some worsteds from West Yorkshire. Jackets can be interlined with traditional wool canvas or fusible layers and trimmed with leather and linen or silk panels, piping or binding.
